The purpose of this policy is to set out the terms of reference including general functions, responsibilities, membership and operating procedures for the Otago Polytechnic Library Committee.
Library Committee Policy
Parts 4 and 6, Section 6.1(4) of Te Kawa Maiorooro | Educational Regulatory Framework (TKM)
The relevant Te Pūkenga Academic Policies, current Otago Polytechnic policies (as per Te Pūkenga Transitioning (Grandparenting) of Former Subsidiaries Policy) and the relevant Otago Polytechnic Business Division Procedures.
1. The Library Committee ensures that library services are provided to meet academic learning and teaching needs and accreditation for each programme of study.
2. The Chair of the Library Committee acts as a conduit between Te Kāhui Manukura and the Robertson Library (Library).
3. Membership of the Library Committee comprises:

Deputy Executive Director: Industry Training and Innovation (Chair)

One (1) representative from each College
-
The Librarian
-
The Subject Librarian(s)

Director: Te Tiriti and Partnership or delegate

Director: Learning and Teaching Development or delegate

Representation from the Otago Polytechnic Students Association (OPSA).
3.1 The Library Committee may co-opt members from time to time. A co-opted member has the same rights as a full member.
4. The Library Committee will:
4.1. Ensure the library collection supports the delivery of all existing and new programmes of study. supports the delivery of all existing and new programmes of study.
4.2. Ensure regular consultation occurs between the library and Colleges/programmes of study about the collection and services.
4.3. Monitor, review, and recommend periodical acquisition, including electronic materials.
4.4. Consult on and determine spending priorities within the budget.
4.5. Oversee and support Otago Polytechnic Research Repository (OPRES).
4.6. Consider Service Level Agreement matters and if necessary, make recommendations to Te Kāhui Manukura.
5. Meeting minutes are available on the Library Committee Teams site.
6. Meetings are normally held bi-monthly or more frequently if required.
